popular culture, lasted all weekend

the sound in my head: Blackstrap

other sounds:

  Darkness: that was quick

Perusing the videos on the iTunes store this morning, I noted that there was a Styx comeback video- a cover of "I am the Walrus". In the video, the Styx drummer is wearing a Darkness t-shirt. I guess the Darkness have become peers of the caped-rockers of yore. The Styx singer looks good for an old man! Very much like Nigel Tufnel.

So, can one ironically enjoy the Darkness anymore? They never clicked for me, too skillful in their imitation of crap to give it more than a passing chuckle. I never understood what the provided tht Turbonegro didn't do better.

Literary Spam Zen

In the spam filter this morning-

Subject: Usher wears Rolex Bling Bling
Sender: Tom Wolfe

Which sure sounds like a plausible name for a Wolfe essay on current pop culture.
